Birmingham Recycled

26 Feb

It’s official! Our website is now up and running.

The website http://www.birminghamrecycled.co.uk was launched on Monday 23rd February. This is a website run and written by Birmingham City University’s online journalism students. It contains news and features on every aspect of the environment, from conservation to recycling, in the Midlands area.

This website isn’t just a place for us to write news stories, but a place for interaction, comment and discussion. We want to create an online community for people interested in environmental news in the Midlands, and further afield.

You can also follow us on Twitter.

Photography Communities – Conservation

16 Feb

Hello!

I’m currently trying to get involved in photography communities for my online journalism module! The ultimate aim is for our whole class to create an online community on the subject of the environment and issues and news on this subject.  This subject has been split into smaller, more specific areas – Transport, Conservation, Recycling, Education, Science, Industry and Technology.

My group has been assigned the topic of conservation, and my online area is photography communities such as Flickr. Only a week into the module I am still getting used to the concept of blogs, online communities etc but hope all will become clear as the course goes on…

So far,  I have joined Twitter and Delicious. I will be creating a Flickr account soon.
